Entirely built on the contrasts between heavy and light, eternal and ephemeral, precious and ordinary, Valeria Vaccaro’s work confronts us with the uncertainty of our time. An elegant work with an impeccable realization in which the material of the sculpture par excellence becomes a symbol of the liquid society that distinguishes us.
Valeria Vaccaro is a young Turin sculptor fascinated by fire and its symbolic, alchemical and primordial meaning, by its purifying power. Fire transforms everything, even marble, a material that the artist has chosen as an expressive weapon, shaping it until it looks like wood, burned and blackened by flames.
Valeria Vaccaro was born in Turin in 1988. After attending the Art School, she studied sculpture at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin. Since 2005 he has regularly exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Italy, France, Germany, England and Montenegro and participates in trade fairs. Between 2013 and 2015 he participated in the JCE Jeune Création Européenne traveling European Biennial. In 2015 he exhibited at Exhibit in Turin and at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Castello di Rivara. In 2017, on the occasion of the CBM Art Prize, he won a special mention from the city of Turin. In the same year she was among the winners of the 2017 ArTeam Cup. In 2021 she was selected to exhibit some of her sculptures at BAG Bocconi Art Gallery in Milan. In 2022 he won the second prize of the IX edition of the VAF Collection Artistic Award.
